DESCRIPTION
Double Dolomite adventure: Piccolo Cir and Grande Cir.
The two via ferratas are immersed in a fantastic Dolomite scenery; immediately at the summit, you will be flanked by unparalleled views.
In a single day, it is possible to tackle both via ferratas with ease.
The Via Ferrata del Piccolo Cir is short, but far from banal. This makes it the perfect environment to train and prepare for longer and more challenging via ferratas. It is an ideal choice for several reasons: it is relatively simple, well maintained, offers good opportunities for climbing and is exposed to the right extent. It's an excellent option for those looking to warm up early in the season or regain confidence with carabiners and rock. It is classified as moderately difficult.
The Ferrata del Grande Cir is easier and could be described as an equipped route. It is considered as easy. However, it still deserves to be tackled for the magnificent panorama that can be admired from its top.
ITINERARY
From the enchanting Gardena Pass (2130 m), the adventure begins with a steady climb along path 654 up to Dantercepies, at 2295 meters. From here, follow the path that leads to the start of the Piccolo Cir Ferrata. The last stretch before access has a gorge, clearly marked with small red dots. Simply following these directions will lead you to the starting point of the via ferrata.
Once you reach the top of Piccolo Cir, which stands at 2520 meters above sea level, the route continues with a descent followed by a deviation to the left, leading you onto the path that will take you to the Ferrata del Grande Cir. Once you reach the top of the Grande Cir, at 2592 metres, you follow the same path again and then taking path 12A you reach the Jimmy Hütte, located at 2219 metres.
From here, the return to Gardena Pass follows trail 2. In this way, you will have completed an exciting circular hike, exploring two fascinating peaks and enjoying spectacular views along the way.
