DESCRIPTION
From fossils to forests: a day of adventure at Bletterbach for young and old.
Our adventure begins at the Visitor Center, where we purchase the ticket that includes access to the Bletterbach Gorge, the exhibition at the Visitor Center, entrance to the GEOlogy Museum in Redagno, and helmet rental. Before immersing ourselves in nature, we visit the Visitor Center's exhibit, which provides us with the basic information needed to appreciate the uniqueness of the Bletterbach Gorge.
Equipped and informed, we head towards the path that leads us into the deep gorge, characterized by porphyry volcanic rocks. Once in the canyon, following the path to the left, we are fascinated by the sandstone layers, vividly colored and beautifully sculpted by nature. These layers preserve precious plant fossils and impressive saurian footprints, testimonies of a distant past.
Our journey continues until we reach a delightful waterfall. After enjoying its beauty, we turn back for a short distance and then tackle the steep climb along the hunters' path. With this climb, our visit to the Bletterbach Gorge concludes, but the excursion is not yet over.
We can choose to return directly to the Visitor Center, or, as we did, extend the day's pleasure with a circular hike that crosses magnificent forests, flowery meadows, and picturesque alpine huts. Each step reveals new landscapes and makes this experience unforgettable.
The excursion is suitable for everyone, but it is especially loved by children.
