DESCRIPTION
Botanical treasures and war history: the unique experience of the Brentonico plateau.
In this itinerary you will have the opportunity to discover interesting military artifacts and immerse yourself in the traces of a typical phenomenon of the entire Lagarino front: the remains of the defensive works designed by the Austro-Hungarian army, but never completed due to the precautionary retreat of the lines in 1915 with the beginning of the conflict. The Austrians had planned to build a fort on Monte Vignola, because the place is truly strategic. From its top you can see and therefore monitor: the Pasubio, the Little Dolomites, the Lessini, the Adamello, the Presanella, the majestic Brenta, the Vallagarina and the Adige river. Once in the hands of the Italian army, the whole area was fortified.
Furthermore, the Brentonico plateau is very rich in botanical varieties.
In conclusion, you will discover a unique combination of the power of nature and the indelible testimony of past conflicts, which make this route an unmissable experience for history and nature lovers.
