Weizgruberalm toboggan run

DESCRIPTION
Track for everyone, fun and sunny.
The mountain hike to the Malga Weizgruber in Selva dei Molini offers a unique experience in nature. With a length of 3 km, the trail is suitable for both experienced hikers and beginners. The Malga is open every day and it is advisable to book by telephone to avoid any inconvenience.
The excursion starts from Selva dei Molini, following the signs for Brunnberg you get to the sign of the Malga Weizgruber, located about 4 km from the village, where there is a parking space available at about 1600 meters above sea level. The walk continues up to the barrier, where the track begins (it is possible to follow path number 28A) which leads to the Malga (ideal place for a restful stop, it is located at an altitude of 2040 metres).
The real attraction of the excursion is the descent on the sled from the hut to the barrier, guaranteed fun for young and old. The breathtaking mountain scenery and the freedom of sledding make this excursion unforgettable.

ITINERARY
From the parking lot at Maso Gasshäusl (1580 m) go up to the left along a paved road, pass a maso and arrive at the toboggan run. Here you go up the toboggan run to the Weizgruberalm (2040 m). Return by sled along the same road.

Take the toboggan run in the coldest periods of winter, because the route is all exposed to the sun.

For your safety, always consult the avalanche bulletin because the snow cover is subject to rapid changes, ask for information from the competent offices of the place. It is recommended to have the appropriate equipment for the trail, weather conditions and season: sled, windbreaker and/or rain jacket, map and/or GPS device, sunglasses, sunscreen, hiking boots, first aid kit, specific winter clothing, crampons, gloves, backpack with food and hot drinks.

HOW TO ARRIVE
From Brunico go to Molini di Tures and then turn left and go up to Selva dei Molini. In the village, turn right onto the access road to the Brunnberg and Mitterberg farms. Shortly after the Holzer farms you come to two other farms and the parking lot.
