DESCRIPTION
An easy excursion between history and nature.
The hike is easy to follow, with only 12 kilometers in length and a difference in altitude of just 396 metres. Along the route, there are numerous attractions to admire: ancient sites dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages which testify to the long history of human settlements in the area, the vineyards which turn a warm golden color in autumn, the Raier Moos biotope with its rich fish fauna, the splendid Novacella Abbey surrounded by its magnificent vineyards, the suggestive cycle-pedestrian road that runs along the Isarco river and the characteristic medieval alleys of Stufels.
Furthermore, in the upper part of the route, it is possible to enjoy a magnificent view of the Bressanone basin. For wine lovers, an obligatory stop is the old Osteria dell'Abbazia di Novacella. This excursion is particularly recommended in autumn, considering that the Isarco Valley is one of the main destinations for Törggelen in the region.
