Monte Altissimo of Nago

DESCRIPTION
Monte Altissimo di Nago is a fabulous natural balcony overlooking Lake Garda, the Adamello and the Brenta Dolomites Group.
The circular itinerary offers the opportunity to have beautiful views of both Lake Garda and the Brentonico plateau. Part of the route winds on the Path of Peace, a path that touches the places where, during the conflict of the First World War, there was the front. The most evident remains are close to the Rifugio Damiano Chiesa.

ITINERARY
From the Stanga car park (1551 m) take path no. 601 and you arrive at Monte Altissimo di Nago (2078 m). A little below is the Rifugio Damiano Chiesa (2060 m). From the hut, take the 622 and reach Malga Campo (1637 m). Small detour to Monte Campo (1667 m) and then take path 650 towards Malga Campei. At a certain point, to shorten, take path 624B on the left, towards Monte Varagna.
In the vicinity of Monte Varagna, take the 601 again and return to the parking lot.

HOW TO ARRIVE
A22 exit Rovereto Sud. Follow the signs for Lake Garda and go through the Tierno Tunnel. Take the SS240 state road to Nago. Here you take Via della Masera, Via alle Scuole, Via delle Cesure, Via Monte Baldo, in order, until you reach the Stanga car park.
