Alpe Sëurasas, Monte Pic and Croce di Crujeta

DESCRIPTION
Very panoramic excursion departing from Santa Cristina Valgardena.
We are located in the heart of Val Gardena, on Alpe Sëurasas - which in Ladin means above the stone - at the foot of Monte Pic. Since its departure, the itinerary offers a breathtaking view. Going up the view widens and finds its apex at the summit of Monte Pic. Here you can sit, not surprisingly on the top there is a bench, and admire all the surrounding peaks at 360 degrees: Sella, Sassolungo, Schiliar and Odle. We also advise you to go to the Croce di Crujeta from where you have a splendid view of Ortisei.
If you go up in summer you can stop and taste the good dishes of the pretty Baita Sëurasas managed by the Runggaldier family.

ITINERARY
From the Cristauta car park (1750 m), take path no. 4 towards S. Giacomo. At the first crossroads, turn right onto path no. 20. First you reach the Sëurasas hut (2020 m) and then the Sëurasas locality (2125 m). Here you continue on path n. 6 to Cima Pic / Pitschberg (2363 m). Return to Sëurasas along the same path and continue on path no. 6 arriving at the Croce della Crujeta (2130 m). You return to the car park by following the same paths.

AUTHOR’S SUGGESTIONS
Be careful from the Sëurasas locality to the summit of Monte Pic, because the path is steeply sloping. Consult the avalanche bulletin of the area.

Our GPX tracks are indicative only, that is, the route was best done with the snow and weather conditions of that day. So always evaluate what to do on site. Also remember to evaluate the route based on your physical abilities, training and the equipment you have. It is appropriate to let someone know the itinerary you intend to take. Remember that the emergency number is 112.

EQUIPMENT
It is recommended to have the appropriate equipment: kit for self-rescue in avalanches (consisting of Artva, shovel and probe), snowshoes, sticks, crampons, glasses, sunscreen, hiking boots, winter clothing, gloves, cap, backpack hot drinks.
