Rifugio Genova in Val di Funes

DESCRIPTION
The Genova refuge is located in Val di Funes within the Puez-Odle National Park.
Built in 1898 with the name Schlüterhütte, it was renamed Rifugio Genova in 1925 by the Ligurian section of the C.A.I.. Today it is managed by the C.A.I. of Bressanone.
This excursion does not present major difficulties, but allows you to admire a unique view of the Odle Group.

ITINERARY
From the car park (1675 m) take trail no.6 which leads to the Forcella de Furcia (2292 m). Here you turn left following the 3 up to Passo di Poma (2340 m) and then the 7: we have arrived at Col di Poma (2424 m). Go back on 7 to the pass and at the crossroads turn right taking back to 3. Shortly after you reach the Rifugio Genova (2306 m). Now go down to the Malga Gampen (2063 m) for the 33. Here you take the 31A and 32 reaching the Kaserill hut (1920 m). You return to the starting point along paths 32 and 25.
Zannes - Forcella de Furcia = 2 hours
Forcella de Furcia - Passo di Poma = 45 minutes
Passo di Poma - Col di Poma = 20 minutes
Col di Poma – Rifugio Genova = 25 minutes
Rifugio Genova - Malga Gampen = 20 minutes
Gampen Alm - Kaserill Alm = 20 minutes
Kaserill - Zannes hut = 30 minutes

HOW TO ARRIVE
From the A22 Chiusa-Val Gardena motorway exit, head towards Teis / Tiso / Villnößtal / Val di Funes. Once in Santa Maddalena, continue for about 5 km to the locality of Zannes.
