Rifugio Col Rodella starting from the Hotel Lupo Bianco

DESCRIPTION
Fantastic itinerary with an unparalleled view of the Fassa Dolomites and Val di Fassa.
The Col Rodella Refuge is located in a strategic place to enjoy a 360-degree panorama of the Dolomites: it is the best balcony in Val di Fassa. The optimal climatic conditions to have a clear view are in winter: clear skies and very little mist. The route does not present particular technical difficulties and not even danger of avalanches. In any case, always ask the area for the snow conditions.

ITINERARY
From the car park, take trail 655 which, climbing along the Val Salei, leads to the Valentini Refuge (2218 m). From here you go towards the Salei Hütte (2225 m) and then passing through the Baita Miara (2272 m) you go up to the Des Alpes Hütte (2389 m). Now we just have to go up to the Col Rodella Hütte refuge (2486 m). You return along the same path.

It is recommended to have the appropriate equipment: kit for self-rescue in avalanches (consisting of Artva, shovel and probe), snowshoes, sticks, crampons, glasses, sunscreen, hiking boots, winter clothing, gloves, cap, backpack hot drinks.

HOW TO ARRIVE
A22 motorway, Egna / Ora exit. Follow the SS48 delle Dolomiti state road to Canazei. Here continue on the SS48 towards Passo Sella for 4.5 km. Hotel Lupo Bianco is on the left.
