Cima Cece

DESCRIPTION
Ring excursion to Cima Cece starting near the Malga di Valmaggiore.
In addition to reaching the Cima Cece, the ring route takes a nice ride, touching the lakes of Cece and Caserina, the forks of Cece and Valmaggiore, the Baito di Caserina, the Paolo and Nicola bivouac and the Malga di Valmaggiore. We are in the Lagorai Group and Cima Cece is the highest peak with its 2754 m. The route is challenging both for the length and for the difference in height: the paths are steep and at times on stony ground.

ITINERARY
It starts from Ponte Valmaggiore (1570 m) and first takes the dirt road towards Lago di Cece and then path 342. Arriving at Lago di Cece (1879 m), take the 336 which passes through Lago Caserina (2087 m) to the Forcella di Cece (2393 m). Now follow the 349 up to a crossroads: go up to the left and arrive at Cima Cece (2754 m). Return along the same path to the crossroads and continue on 349 up to the Forcella Valmaggiore (2180 m) - Bivacco Paolo e Nicola. Take the 335, descend through Val Maggiore arriving at the Malga Valmaggiore (1619 m). Go down a little further on the dirt road and return to the starting point.
